Accident in the Perg district of Upper Austria: While working on a roof, a man slipped on sawdust while using a chainsaw.
A 56-year-old from the Perg district and his 27-year-old son-in-law were carrying out renovation work on the roof structure of the former agricultural company in Waldhausen im Strudengau on Friday. At around 6.20pm, the 56-year-old used a chainsaw to saw off elements of the existing roof structure on the tin roof of the winter garden.
Son-in-law cried for rescue
The man may have slipped due to the accumulated wood chips and eventually fell over the edge of the roof about five meters into the depths. There he landed on his face and shoulder on a pile of bulky waste. The son-in-law immediately rushed to help and called 911. The 56-year-old received emergency medical treatment and was taken to Amstetten State Hospital with injuries of an undetermined nature.
