Italian police officers were surprised when they stopped a woman driving a car during a traffic stop in Ferrara province. The 103-year-old lady did not have a valid driver’s license or insurance.
According to her own statements, the elderly driver wanted to visit friends in the middle of the night. According to eyewitnesses, she allegedly performed dangerous driving maneuvers, after which the carabinieri left.
Police said the woman was disoriented and continued driving through the same streets. Investigation revealed that her driver’s license had already expired for two years.
Car seized, fine imposed
The pensioner was fined according to traffic regulations and her vehicle was picked up by a tow truck. Finally, she was escorted home by the carabinieri.
