Spectacular scenes took place in the Tyrolean winter sports resort of Sölden on Tuesday evening: after a holidaymaker got into an argument with a taxi driver over the bill, the Estonian jumped over the guardrail and fell almost 50 meters into a stream. The escape continued in the icy water before the 20-year-old was stopped by police. His body temperature was only 31 degrees.

During the ride from a restaurant to the holiday accommodation, an argument broke out between the taxi driver and the 20-year-old Estonian There was a disagreement about payment. After the driver called the police, the passenger fled.

Fell almost 50 meters into the stream bed
The man jumped over the guardrail and fell about 40 to 50 meters over a steep dike into the stream bed of the Rettenbach. “He then fled, completely soaked, along the stream bed towards the area of ​​Sölden,” the police reported.

Officials eventually found the Estonian seriously hypothermic in the stream bed near a hotel. ““The 20-year-old, who was clearly heavily intoxicated, was rescued from the streambed by volunteer firefighters using a turntable ladder and then taken to Zams Hospital by rescue,” investigators continued.

Injured and severely hypothermic
The holidaymaker’s body temperature was only 31 degrees. The holidaymaker also suffered injuries to his face and upper body in the crash.
