The mission, which departed from Cyprus on Tuesday, was described by Onege as “very complex” and was postponed due to poor security conditions, security guarantees and clearances to depart from Israel.
The intention is that the onege ship Open armswith 200 tons of food on board, arriving this Friday Gaza Strip for the purpose of relieving, as far as possible, the famine caused by the siege of Israel.
The ship left Cyprus last Tuesday, after multiple delays due to poor security conditions, security guarantees and clearances to sail from Israel.
The mission was described as “High complexity” for one. In fact, under normal conditions it takes about 25 hours to travel the 210 nautical miles that separate Cyprus from Gaza, although Open Arms’ prediction was that it would be more than 50 hours of travel.
