The agricultural trade union organizations of Hego Euskal Herria (EHNE-Gipuzkoa, EHNE-Nafarroa, ENBA-Bizkaia, ENBA-Gipuzkoa and UAGA) have called for “a big demonstration” for next Tuesday, the 19th, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, with the The aim is to “demand that central government listen to the sector once and for all and enable the necessary measures that enable a stable and dignified future for agricultural businesses.”

In a statement they explained that the march will take place under the motto ‘Prioritize the primary sector/Lehen sectorea lehenetsi‘, with the aim of ‘supporting family farming, the majority in our area’.

Farmers will benefit from the celebration of the VIII World Conference on Family Farmingwhich will be held at the Europa Conference Center, hosted by the World Rural Forum, so that “the voices of farmers and ranchers can be heard.”

For this reason, the tractor rally will start in front of the Europa Conference Center in Vitoria-Gasteiz, where the sector will read out a manifesto in support of family farming. From there they reported going to the sub-delegation of the Spanish government in the Basque Country, where a document containing the demands of the agricultural organizations will be handed over to the new government delegate, Marisol Garmendia.

The tractors will gather from 8:30 am along Portal de Foronda Street to exit towards Gasteiz Avenue, where at 10 am they will mobilize in front of the Europa Conference Center and read out a manifesto in favor of family farming.

Later, at 10:15 a.m., the demonstration will leave both on foot and on tractors to the delegation of the Spanish government in the Basque Country, at Paseo Fray Francisco, before which they will gather again and at 12 noon: After 30 p.m. they will have a ” manifesto of requirements” to be registered later with the delegation.
