Vengefulness and arguments culminated in a burglary and property damage: an angry ex-tenant flooded the apartment!
If a feature film were to tell the story, the viewer might think: a bit unbelievable, but so strange that it is entertaining. But it’s true. And not entertaining.
A 32-year-old from Klagenfurt had a dispute with a former landlord. So he used a tool to break open the toilet window in the basement of the apartment building, went into the apartment and turned on all the taps – not without blocking all the drains first!
The water was four inches deep
The crime must have occurred between Friday and Sunday. The homeowner (54) noticed the flooding on Sunday morning: the water was more than ten centimeters high in the apartment!
The fire brigades from Köttmannsdorf and Maria Rain arrived with 24 men to pump out the water. The clean-up work is still ongoing. The damage amounts to at least 10,000 euros.
It is not yet clear whether anything was stolen. The suspect has not yet been questioned about the case.
