About 21 percent of all employed people in Upper Austria were foreign nationals in the third quarter of last year – in other words, one in five was not Austrian. But what is the distribution among those who were unemployed in December of the previous year? The “Krone” knows the unemployment rate per country.
At the end of last year, a total of 41,210 people were registered as unemployed in Upper Austria, while 9,329 people were taking part in AMS training. Of these, approximately 40 percent were foreign citizens.
The number of unemployed foreigners has increased by about 18 percent compared to December 2022. That of Austrian citizens by 7.2 percent. An increase of approximately two percent was recorded in the number of foreign citizens completing the AMS training.
