The current ‘TV duel’ between Andreas Mölzer and Eva Glawischnig on krone.tv was, among other things, about the three-day Russian elections last weekend.
Glawischnig sobs: “It wasn’t a choice. So definitely not. All opposition members were either wiped out, that is, in prison, not on the electoral list, or dead. It is extremely sensitive if you call something like that an election. He now believes he has the job to continue to rule the Russians with a strong hand.”
His announcements were worrying: “He immediately threatened the West. He threatened Sweden. And Putin immediately flexed his muscles and uttered the word World War III. He’s flying high now and it’s all extremely dangerous. I’m most concerned about what will happen in the coming weeks.”
The majority supports Putin
Mölzer: “Even if you don’t take the figures and the election results seriously, there is probably a majority in Russia that supports Putin. A majority of Russians are likely to support this course and support Putin. Of course Putin is a dictator. But on the other hand, there is a certain hypocrisy among us.”
When I think about the fact that the leaders of the EU and our Karl Chancellor were in Cairo two days ago and kissed al-Sisi, you can believe one thing: elections in Egypt are about as free as elections in Egypt, Russia . If the West can satisfy its interests, then that’s fine. That’s hypocrisy.
Another point of discussion concerns Donald Trump’s recent massacre claim. You can see the two duelists’ respective stances on these and other political issues in the video above.
