Wednesday evening around 9:15 p.m.: A 36-year-old Serb from Switzerland overtook a police patrol in his white BMW 530i on the western highway in Upper Austria – who immediately radioed for support due to the high speed.
The alerted highway police took out the laser knife and determined: The BMW was traveling at a speed of 230 km/h – 223 minus the measuring tolerance.
Who owns the car?
The lead foot was finally stopped at Allhaming rest area. The 36-year-old is the first to lose his vehicle due to his extreme speed under the new law in Upper Austria – police have seized his white BMW. The driver also lost his driver’s license.
The vehicle was towed on orders from authorities. Now the district council must determine who owns the car. This will decide what happens next with the BMW.
