CaixaBank, Ibercaja, Unicaja, Ibercaja, Kutxabank, the rural banks or the Caja de Ingenieros have been left out of the strike call.
Banking unions declared a 24-hour strike on Friday after failing to reach an agreement in principle with employers, the Spanish Banking Association (AEB), on salary increases yesterday, sources close to the negotiations said. CaixaBank, Ibercaja, Unicaja, Ibercaja, Kutxabank, the national savings banks or the Engineers’ Bankthey stayed out of the strike call.
The three major banking unions are making a joint call for “mass” participation in the workforce strike Banco Santander, BBVA, Sabadell, Bankinter, Deutsche Bank and the rest of the companies in the sector.
The purpose of this strike is to send the respective companies the “resounding” message that they deserve an agreement “at least” comparable to what has been signed in other sectors of the financial sector, and an agreement that truly means “of effective and tangible way”, salary increases for the entire workforce.
The strike comes after AEB and its member banks did not accept the latest joint proposal from the unions. In a commitment to negotiation, CCOO, UGT and FINE adopted a joint approach during the meeting held yesterday, in which they mainly asked for a minimum consolidated increase of 13% in three years and one more day of vacation, to reach 25 annually .
However, the AEB rejected this proposal and maintained positions, in the opinion of the unions, “very far” away from the benefits of the sector, the pay increase of senior management and, above all, from what employees demand and deserve. .
