A collision between a train and a car ended mildly on Saturday afternoon: the driver was about to cross a level crossing in Unterschwarza, Styria, when the train came towards him faster than expected. He managed to escape the worst danger: the train traveling in the direction of Bad Radkersburg only hit the rear of the car.
The accident ended harmlessly
Nevertheless, the car was thrown aside with enormous force. The fire brigade, rescue brigade, police and ÖBB operational management were immediately alerted. The driver was treated by the Red Cross and taken to hospital for examination. All train passengers were unharmed and were escorted from the train by the fire brigade.
