Deadly incident on Sunday evening at a festival in the Tyrolean Pitztal: During an event after the Almabtrieb, a 17-year-old, apparently drunk, local fell six meters from a balcony and fell almost directly on a young man who was eventually “merely” grazed. The youth suffered serious injuries.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. in Jerzens. The 17-year-old, who was apparently there all day and “drinking enough alcohol,” according to police, fell six meters from the balcony through no fault of his own.
18-year-old grazed head and shoulder
In doing so, he hit an 18-year-old Austrian who was standing under the balcony in the head and shoulder area. The 17-year-old was seriously injured in the fall and was taken to the Innsbruck clinic after first aid,” the researchers said.
The 18-year-old also suffered injuries – but he only had to be treated at the scene. He was also noticeably handicapped by alcohol. A further police investigation into the exact course of the accident is still ongoing.
