Fireball on Sunday night on Wiener Außenring-Schnellstraße in Lower Austria: A car suddenly caught fire near Gerasdorf and burned out completely.
According to the Gerasdorf volunteer fire brigade, the driver of the car had sent the vehicle into the emergency lane S1 shortly before 02:30 am. He then got out and shortly after, flames began to erupt from the car. In no time the car was ablaze.
The fire brigade says that the extinguishing activities have started with heavy respiratory protection. The S1 had to be closed towards Seyring. The operation lasted two hours, after extinguishing the completely destroyed vehicle was removed. No one was injured.
