Unusual accident at Linz airport: a small plane overturned shortly after landing. The reason: a band had come loose.
The accident happened on Saturday afternoon at Linz airport in Hörsching. The light aircraft YK55 lost its left tire on approach to Linz-Hörsching airport around 3:30 PM. This caused the landing gear to hit the runway, causing the small plane to flip over and land on the roof in the adjacent meadow.
Pilot in the hospital
The slightly injured 58-year-old pilot from the Vöcklabruck district received first aid from the rescue team and was then taken to the UKH Linz. Due to the incident, the flight operation at the airport was suspended from 3.30 pm to 4.55 pm.
