A serious industrial accident occurred in the Tyrolean Zillertal on Monday afternoon. The victim was a 21-year-old who was working on a roof structure. Despite safety measures, the young man fell from the roof of the house.
The accident took place around 1:30 PM in the municipality of Mayrhofen. The 21-year-old Austrian was on the roof of the house and probably slipped. This caused him to fall into a safety device mounted on the roof structure.
Impact on asphalt
But the young man was mainly unlucky. A wooden truss of protection broke and the 21-year-old fell six meters from the roof. He ended up on an asphalt road.
After initial treatment, the seriously injured man was flown to Schwaz Hospital by emergency helicopter.
