Linz resident Thomas Pekny, former director of the Comedy at the Bavarian Court, is alleged to have accessed child and youth pornographic content. This is not his first contact with the court.
Another lawsuit over images of abuse of minors in the theater. And once again it is an Austrian who has to answer before the criminal court because he has repeatedly gained access to child and youth pornography. Although in Germany.
Thomas Pekny, son of a once award-winning Austrian actor and a well-known stage actress, will be tried on February 8 at the Munich Criminal Justice Center. The date brings back memories: the 2023 trial was originally scheduled for February 8 against ex-Burg star Florian Teichtmeister, who received a two-year suspended prison sentence in Vienna for displaying child pornography.
The Munich Regional Court has not yet released any details in response to a “Krone” request: “Information about the accusation will only be provided one week before the date,” it said. It has already been leaked that the 72-year-old set designer and ex-director of the comedy at the Bavarian court, to whom the presumption of innocence applies, has a total of 120 cases.
Already in court in 2021
This is not the first appearance in court for Pekny, who, among other things, worked on sets in the state theaters in Linz and Salzburg. The Linz resident faced allegations of serious sexual abuse in the summer of 2021, and the trial ended with an acquittal in case of doubt.
Meanwhile, a criminal injunction against Pekny for sexual harassment became legally binding. A penal order is a common form of criminal conviction in Germany for minor offenses that takes place without a trial; usually it involves a fine.
