The war in Ukraine has already lasted 100 days. On Friday, the Ukrainian authorities addressed the population with perseverance slogans. Every meter of the Luhansk region is being preserved, regional governor Serhiy Gajday said. In concrete terms, fighting is currently taking place in the city of Sievjerodonetsk, among others.
This is the last bastion of Ukrainian troops in the Luhansk region. The soldiers have entrenched themselves in the industrial area of the city, which is already 80 percent in the hands of the Russian army. British intelligence estimates it is 90 percent and Moscow will take full control over the next two weeks.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the enemy is shelling positions in the city, on the outskirts of Borivsk and Ustynivka, and in the twin city of Lysychansk, which forms an agglomeration with Sievjerodonetsk. In addition, the General Staff reported air raids on the village of Myrna Dolyna and failed attempts to attack the Metyolkine and Bilohorivka settlements near Sieverodonetsk.
Agglomeration is cut off from supply
There are currently other attacks in the Donetsk region around Sloviansk and Lyman and in the Bakhmut area. The metropolis is cut off from the supply. According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces have repulsed five attacks in the past 24 hours, destroying weapons such as tanks and artillery systems. Independent sources have not yet confirmed this information.
Before the February 24 invasion, the Russian government controlled about 43,000 square kilometers in Ukraine – the Crimean peninsula since 2014 and a third of the Donbass mining area. It should now be 125,000 square kilometers.
