Public transport: It can be fun, but it doesn’t have to. The “Krone” recently toured with a climate ticket by train from Stockerau via St. Pölten to Linz, got on the S-Bahn to Asten, visited St. Florian by bus, took the train back to Salzburg, finally reached Filzmoos and via Bischofshofen and Eben everything went back. Conclusion: Lots of scenery, few delays, less than 10 minutes in total, but they were “made up” again. In addition, the carriages and station areas were quite clean.
