Three members of a family were killed in Baden-Württemberg. A 19-year-old allegedly attacked his parents and two siblings with a stabbing weapon in an apartment building in the Waldshut district on Tuesday evening, as the Freiburg police station and the Waldshut-Tiengen public prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday.
The parents, aged 58 and 61, died at the scene. A 34-year-old brother of the suspect died in a hospital from his injuries. A sister of the alleged attacker also suffered serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds. She was taken to a clinic by rescue helicopter.
Suspicion of manslaughter in three cases
The 19-year-old was temporarily arrested at the scene. He would be brought before the judge of the Waldshut-Tiengen court on Wednesday on strong suspicion of manslaughter in three cases and attempted manslaughter. The background to the violent act was initially unclear.
The suspect is said to have both Italian citizenship and German citizenship, as “Bild” reported.
