The Central administration accumulates most of the debt. For example, central government debt rose to 1,434 billion euros in the fourth quarter, 5.5% more than a year ago, equivalent to 98.1% of GDP, compared to 100.9% the year before.
Concerning the autonomous communitiesthe Valencian Community, with a debt of 42.2%, remains the leader among the regions with the highest debt in relation to its wealth, followed by Castilla-La Mancha (31.9%), the Murcia region (31.2% ) and Catalonia, with 31%. On the contrary: Navarre has the least debt in relation to their GDP (12%); Canary Islands (12.2%); Basque Autonomous Community (12.4%) and the Community of Madrid (12.6%).
