Bank sounded the alarm: woman wanted to sell books and was scammed

An attentive bank employee stopped the fraudsters’ craft. They stole 20,000 euros from a 75-year-old.

The senior wanted to sell her book collection. For this purpose, a woman from Salzburg wrote to a publisher. When two unknown men contacted her a little later to buy the collection, the 75-year-old believed them. The collection was incomplete.

Fraudsters promised 140,000 euros
The men claimed they would pay 140,000 euros when it was complete. They would get the missing books. The Salzburg woman paid more than 20,000 euros for three of the books purchased by the men.

She wanted to take out a loan for another book. Fortunately, a bank employee raised the alarm. He pointed out the deception to the woman. The woman from Salzburg filed a complaint.
