After weeks of investigation by the police in Villach, ten Romanian women were found in Draustadt who had been guilty of illegal apartment prostitution.
The executive criminal service in SPK Villach has conducted several key campaigns against illegal residential prostitution in the urban area of Villach in recent weeks. During these checks, a total of ten illegal prostitutes from Romania who offered their services in their apartments were entered in the act, police said.
The prostitutes advertised their services with relevant advertisements on various internet portals and also used “fake accounts” where interested parties would access the services by paying in advance with online prepaid cards. “After sending the activation codes for the prepaid cards, contact with the scammers was always lost. The perpetrators used Austrian phone numbers to cheat,” said a researcher.
