In the early hours of Sunday morning, loud cries for help were heard on the streets in central Vienna: two young women (21 and 24 years old) had left a bar and then a 28-year-old allegedly threatened them with a razor.
The man allegedly pulled out a razor in front of the bar at Franz-Josefs-Kai and demanded cash. By shouting loudly for help, the women were able to draw attention to themselves and chase the 28-year-old man away.

However, in just a short time, officials were able to capture and arrest the man from Syria. The knife was discovered in a used glass container.

During interrogation, the 28-year-old stated that he had invited the women to a bar and then wanted the amount he allegedly paid back. According to his own statements, he only had the knife with him in self-defense.
