Stable work can be life-threatening – this was demonstrated again on a farm in Unterweißenbach in Upper Austria. There, a calf weighing 150 kilos ran over the farmer’s wife (48). She hit the back of her head on the concrete floor and was momentarily unconscious. The woman came to the hospital.
On Monday at 3 p.m., a 48-year-old woman from Unterweißenbach (Freistadt district) was injured in the back of the head when she and her 53-year-old husband tried to drive the calves out of the stable. During this process, a calf weighing about 150 kilos was apparently able to escape through the feeding fence in the stable.
Hit the back of his head on the stable floor
During the subsequent attempt to catch the calf, the 48-year-old woman was run over, causing her to fall, hitting the back of her head on the concrete stable floor and probably being unconscious for a short time. Her husband rushed to her aid and their daughter called the emergency services. After first aid she was taken to a hospital.
