A semi-trailer truck loaded with cucumbers overturned in an accident on the Westautobahn (A1) towards Salzburg near Neumarkt an der Ybbs (Melkwijk) on Tuesday and ended up in all three lanes perpendicular to the direction of travel. The result was a closure between Ybbs and Amstetten-Ost – and countless cucumbers on the road.
At least two hours
There was a kilometer long traffic jam. “The highway will remain closed for at least two hours,” said an ÖAMTC spokesperson. According to initial information, no one was injured, police said upon request.
According to reports, the accident happened around 1 p.m. Initially nothing was known about the cause.
