Difficult scenes took place in Innsbruck: there was a fire in an apartment in an apartment building. The residents – a Polish couple – were able to escape to safety with their dog. They had to be taken to the clinic due to suspected smoke poisoning.
The fire started on Easter Sunday around 11 p.m. in a residential complex on Radetzkystrasse in Innsbruck. For unknown reasons, a fire broke out in the couple’s bedroom.
Fire brigade quickly arrived on scene
“The two “Polish residents aged 44 and 42 and a dog were able to escape from the smoke-filled apartment,” police said. The fire was eventually quickly brought under control and extinguished by the fire brigade who arrived on the scene.
To the clinic with rescue
The man and woman were taken by ambulance to the clinic in Innsbruck with suspected smoke poisoning. “The bedroom was severely damaged by the fire,” investigators continued.
The extent of the damage caused cannot yet be quantified. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
