Deputy State Environmental Lawyer Walter Tschon would like to see the powers in the field of environmental and nature conservation in the Tyrolean state government be bundled. He has his own department in mind. “This could shorten the project lead time for projects,” is one of his arguments.
The fight against climate change requires not only speed, but also optimal cooperation and coordination at national and international level. According to the Tyrolean environmental prosecutor’s office, a reshuffle within the state government is necessary. “We are in two major crises at the same time: the climate crisis and species extinction. Due to the challenges ahead, it is essential to ensure a coordinated environmental department. Climate protection and nature conservation belong together,” says Deputy State Environmental Lawyer Walter Tschon in an interview with the “Tiroler Krone”.
