Normally there can’t be that much bad luck! In the Baden district of Lower Austria, a car between Unterwaltersdorf and Mitterndorf hit a deer, which was thrown by the impact and hit a cyclist with enormous force!
Almost unbelievable scenes unfolded on Thursday around 6:45 p.m. on the L4043 federal road between Unterwaltersdorf and Mitterndorf in the Baden district of Lower Austria, where a man and a woman were cycling towards Unterwaltersdorf.
Incredible accident
The driver of a BMW was driving from the opposite direction. Suddenly several deer crossed the road and the car hit one of them. The impact caused the animal to land on the oncoming vehicle and hit the 48-year-old cyclist, who fell to the ground with serious injuries.
Her companion and the car driver immediately provided first aid and alerted the emergency services. Paramedics from the Samaritan Association treated the seriously injured person and took her to Baden State Hospital. The deer likely died immediately after impact.
