Three suspects forced numerous Chinese women who had legally entered Austria into prostitution in Graz and Vienna. After intensive investigation by detectives, the suspects were eventually arrested. They are not confessed.
Months of investigation by the Styrian State Police in close cooperation with the LKA Vienna in a case of cross-border prostitution trafficking in Graz and Vienna has now led to the arrest of three suspects. Two Chinese men (31 and 49) and a Chinese woman (55) are suspected of forcing and exploiting numerous Chinese women into prostitution between autumn 2021 and spring 2024.
Worked in brothels in Graz and Vienna
The women were also said to have been deprived of their freedom and coerced. The victims traveled legally to Austria, mainly by plane via Vienna-Schwechat, or by train from Italy. Once they arrived in the country, the suspects confiscated their travel documents. The women then applied for asylum so that they could finally work legally. The Chinese women were then ’employed’ in various brothels in Graz and Vienna.
Not all suspects have made confessions
The Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered searches in Graz and Vienna. Investigators were able to secure numerous pieces of evidence, including cash and documents.
The suspects have not or only partially confessed. The investigation by the Styrian State Police has not yet been completed and is proving difficult because other possible victims and witnesses are also being kept secret. The Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered the arrest of the three suspects. You are in the prison of Graz-Jakomini.
