On Monday, two Czechs (both 21 years old) robbed a tobacconist in the Lend district of Graz in broad daylight. They held a knife to the employee’s face and demanded cash. A few hours after the crime, they were arrested in a hotel room at the train station.
The summer weather did not stop two Czechs from robbing a tobacco shop in the Lend district of Graz on Monday afternoon. It turned out that those with previous convictions in their home country specifically traveled by train. Around 4:20 p.m. they stormed into the tobacconist, masked with sunglasses and caps. One of the two held the knife in front of the employee’s face and demanded cash.
Arrested in the hotel room
Despite everything, the woman was not deterred and refused. The robbers then searched the room and actually found the key to the cash register. While one of them was clearing the cash register, his accomplice took the banknotes over the counter. Then they both ran away.
As usual, the robbery group of the Styrian State Police took over the investigation. They followed clue after clue, working their way from bars to taxi drivers to brothels and hotels. Until they were back on track. During the night they eventually ended up in a hotel near the train station, where they picked up the two suspects.
Clothing, weapons and loot seized
In her room they discovered not only the clothes and the knife, but also the stolen money. They had already used some of it for shopping. Since the two were quite reluctant, the rapid intervention group was called in to assist the arrest.
The two young men are now in Graz-Jakomini prison. While one confesses, his partner does not want to say anything about the robbery.
