An old file note, made in the course of the BVT and the behind-the-scenes investigation in Ibiza, reveals new insights into the blue threads of the Russian spy Jan Marsalek. The note suggests that the telegrams from Wirecard’s former board may have indirectly ‘stimulated’ the illegal search in the BVT and may also have indirectly influenced the state elections in Lower Austria. Circumstances that FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl must explain to the U-Commission on Thursday.
The spy network around Jan Marsalek and Egisto Ott is becoming increasingly blue – and more explosive. As chat messages show, the FPÖ, at least under the club’s former president, Johann Gudenus, had a direct line to the Russian spy who was wanted all over the world. News and information was exchanged from Marsalek through the blue intermediary that could have influenced political processes and personnel decisions.
Project “Pyramid” and “Muslim Mother”
The trio chatted about the ‘Pyramid’ project – a planned reshuffle of the BVT and Marsalek’s plan to build a refugee camp in Egypt. “The Egyptian government would agree to refugee camps and the US would support this,” reads a message forwarded to Gudenus by the intermediary – followed by the message: “Coming from Jan, please discuss with BMI whether we should take action.”
But the topics were not only of an international nature. There was also an exchange of views on the state elections in Lower Austria in 2017.
