Time as a valuable commodity – Volunteers from Styria help in shorter and shorter periods of time

Date:

Time is becoming an increasingly scarce resource and volunteer work is also suffering. We asked Caritas, the rescue services and the fire brigade what kind of incentives they offer.

“Work quickly, quickly and in the short term – that is the trend,” says Bettina Heuser. As volunteer manager at Caritas in Styria, she has an overview of all areas of volunteer work: “It is easier to find people for short-term commitments – as was recently the case with the Graz train station mission. You register online for an afternoon and can help quickly and without any training.”
