Passenger injured – alcoholic driver ended up upside down in the stream in Altenberg

A 32-year-old drunk driver left the road on Wednesday night on the way from Altenberg to Kapellen. Her car plunged into the stream and landed on its roof. While she was able to free herself, her passenger had to be rescued and taken to hospital.

The 32-year-old from the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district was on his way to Kapellen with a 46-year-old man around 10 p.m. She came from the right side of the road near Altenberg. Her car then overturned, endangering both occupants.

The car eventually came to a stop on its roof in a stream. Surprisingly, the woman was unharmed and was able to free herself, but her passenger was trapped. The fire brigade rushed to save him. He was then taken to the LKH Bruck an der Mur with injuries of an undetermined nature. The car was lifted out of the stream with a crane. It later emerged that the 32-year-old was driving under the influence of alcohol.
