This year, EVE will provide EUR 11 million in support for domestic sustainable self-consumption

Date:

This call for help is valid until October 31 or before the budget is exhausted.

He Basque energy entity (EVE) plans to make grants this year support for a total amount of EUR 11 million for starting up installations renewable energy -solar, wind and thermal- for the domestic own consumption.

Specifically aimed at the residential sector, both for individuals and for residential civilian communities of renewable energy, and installations of up to 25 kW, the support for installations for self-consumption of solar and wind energy to produce electricity will have a budget this year of 8.5 million euros. anus.

Domestic renewable thermal systems (geothermal, aerothermal, biomass and solar thermal systems) will also have a utility worth 2.5 million euros in 2024, as reported on Friday by the EVE after publication in the Euskadi Government Gazette.

The Public Energy Agency of the Basque Government has emphasized that self-consumption has become “one of the most representative and flourishing models”, as Euskadi has 4,352 installations of this type to cover the main electrical energy needs of homes.

The new EVE support for self-consumption for this year will contribute to the launch of new installations for self-consumption of renewable solar and wind energy, both for buildings connected to the electricity grid and for isolated buildings using storage systems or batteries.

All facilities must have a monitoring system for the energy produced, of which at least 80% must be consumed by the people who own or are associated with the installation.

This call for help will have a scheduled validity until October 31 next year or previous depletion of the budget.

For its part, the production of domestic heat of renewable origin, both for heating and for domestic hot water heating, will also benefit from a new specific support program worth 2.5 million euros, which can be applied for from April 15 to October 31, 2024.

This support will contribute to investments in renewable energies, including solar thermal energy, biomass, geothermal energy with boreholes, hydrothermal energy, aerothermal energy (except air-to-air) and to the creation of new exchange links for the integration of new users of heat sources. networks based on renewable sources.

These grants will contribute up to 35% of the eligible costs of the new facilities.
