In France, a man confessed to killing his two small children. The bodies of the three-year-old girl and the one-year-old boy were discovered in a field, the Public Prosecution Service said on Friday.
This was about 40 kilometers south of Paris. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the man apparently tried to commit suicide with his car after the murder. “He survived and said he killed his two children.” The father told police where the bodies could be found. Initially, nothing was disclosed about the background of the crime.
A similar case around Christmas
In the Paris region, there have been several cases in recent months of children apparently murdered by their parents. For example, a 33-year-old is accused of killing his wife and their four children shortly before Christmas.
In total, more than 60 children were murdered by their parents last year, according to the child protection organization Voix de l’Enfant (Voice of the Children, note).
