Spectacular scenes took place in the Tyrolean lowlands on Friday evening: after a motorcyclist made a so-called wheelie, a patrol gave chase. The motorcyclist fled and even broke through two police barriers. Ultimately, the suspect could only be found at his home address.
Someone probably wanted to impress other road users with their ‘driving skills’. Shortly before 6:30 p.m., an initially unknown motorcyclist was attacked by police on the B175 Wildbichler Straße in the Kufstein/Eichelwang region after “performing” a so-called wheelie (front wheel in the air, nut).
Motorcycle hooligan fled
The officers then immediately gave chase. “When the man noticed the blue lights and the sound of the horn, he folded the license plate and attempted to flee at an excessive speed,” investigators said.
The police set up two roadblocks. But the hooligan was not impressed. “He drove toward the officers, causing them to jump out of the way,” investigators continued.
Based on the motorcycle’s license plate, an 18-year-old local man was eventually identified as a suspect and arrested at his place of residence. “He admitted to riding the motorcycle.”
Wrong license plate, no driver’s license
But that is not everything: “The motorcycle was not registered for traffic. The 18-year-old had mounted the license plate of his light motorcycle on the motorcycle,” investigators said. Moreover, he does not have the necessary driver’s license for this vehicle. Follow ads.
