Within a week, a sex caller called the number of transport company Burgenland, a record number of 2,507 times, to satisfy himself by telephone. Fine!
After a more than difficult working week, the patience of the five employees of the Burgenland transport company’s reporting line has finally been broken: the 39-year-old was charged with continued persecution. The Mittelburgenlander had called 2,507 times from a suppressed number to have sex conversations with the women and to satisfy himself. Does an average of 358 times per day or 45 times per hour. “I had tried professional erotic hotlines before, but the dialect there was completely off-putting to me.”
“Moan into the phone”
Attorney Michael Dohr did his utmost for his client. “He never showed up for this call center, so he never tried to meet the women.” Two or three women made him feel “that they were listening to me,” the suspect said at the Eisenstadt Regional Court. Judge Karin Lückl immediately intervened. “Don’t you think they just hung up the phone, knowing you would call again anyway?” One of those affected stated that she had been harassed by these sex calls up to 200 times. The man always moaned into the phone and clearly expressed his desires. “I usually hung up right away and never waited for him to finish.”
The Mittelburgenlander did not want to hear the audio files during the trial. Also because the blameless person had already fully confessed. “I would like to offer my sincerest apologies. I know that’s not what this call center was designed for.”
The man accepted the diversion – a fine of 2,000 euros and compensation of 200 euros for each of the five women – without thinking. ‘Do I have a criminal record now?’ he wanted to know. “No!” – “Very good, great.”
