An apartment fire required a large contingent of emergency services on Franz-Schubert-Straße in Wörgl (Tyrol) on Sunday evening around 5:20 p.m. An elderly couple – a man (80) and a woman (85) – were able to save themselves from a smoke-filled apartment just in time.
On Sunday around 5:10 p.m., cooking oil caught fire in the apartment of an apartment building in Wörgl, which the 85-year-old resident (Austrian citizen) left in a pan on the stove. She and her 80-year-old partner were able to get to safety and leave the house in time.
Firefighters happened to be in the area
Two members of the FFW Wörgl, who happened to be on the scene, became aware of smoke pouring from the window and ventilation of the affected kitchen. They alerted the fire brigade and took the first measures. When emergency services arrived, they saw flames rising to the roof structure. The fire was eventually successfully extinguished and was extinguished by 5:45 p.m.
After first aid, the 85-year-old and her partner were taken to the BKH Kufstein by the rescue team due to suspected smoke poisoning. The two emergency workers (22 and 53 years old) or those who made the report also received initial medical care from the emergency services present. However, her admission to hospital was not necessary. The extent of the damage is currently unknown. There were in action: five vehicles from FFW Wörgl (40 men), two ambulances and two patrols from PI Wörgl.
