The remains of more than 500 horses were discovered on a property in Australia. Police and authorities in New South Wales have launched an extensive investigation.
The campsite is located near Wagga Wagga, about a five-hour drive from Sydney.
Neighbors complained about the smell
Residents had complained about the stench emanating from the building. During the first investigations, remains of horses were found in several places, which were apparently deposited there over a longer period of time.
Wagga Wagga City Council said some of the carcasses were skeletal remains, while others had been recently killed.
The carcasses were discovered in many different locations on the property. It is believed there are more than 500.
