Major operation for several fire brigades on Friday in the Tyrolean Zillertal: On the Hochschwendberg in Hippach, at about 1,700 meters above sea level, a hut caught fire shortly before 8 a.m. The emergency services couldn’t do much.
The emergency services received the alarm around 7:50 am. A mountain hut on the Hochschwendberg was on fire. The building is a converted stable above the Pendlingalm, which is used as a holiday home.
Hut burned down, no injuries
According to information from “Krone”, the fire brigades of Laimach, Schwendau, Ramsau, Mayrhofen, Zell am Ziller and Uderns were in service, as well as the rescue services and the police. The fire brigade had the hut burn down in a controlled manner; there was nothing left to save.
According to officials, no people were in or near the cabin at the time the fire broke out, so no injuries were reported.
