The Palestinian Authority will review relations with the United States after the veto at the UN

At least 37 people have been killed and 68 injured in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours. Nine people from the same family, including six children, were killed in one of the attacks.

The President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbashas condemned the United States’ veto on the integration of Palestine as a full member of the UN, accusing the country of “Abandon All Promises” sees the two-state solution as a formula for peace between Israelis and Palestinians, and has warned against it relationships will ‘reconsider’ with Washington in light of what happened. “Palestinian leaders will reconsider bilateral relations with Washington USAin a manner that ensures the protection of the interests of our people, our cause and our rights,” the President said. Two days after Washington overthrew the UN Security Council recognition of PalestineAbbas pointed out in an interview with the WAFA agency that the veto “a blatant aggression against the rights, history and homeland of the Palestinian people. He also believes that the North American government is “defying the will of the international community.”

Twelve of the fifteen member states of the Council voted in the advantage for Palestine to complete its inclusion in the United Nations, while two others abstained and there was only one “no”, that of the American delegation. The United States thus remains Israel’s most important international partner, in a crucial context due to the escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
