The police were looking for a fugitive driver in Hall in Tirol on Saturday evening: After the suspect (18) crashed into a taxi with a car, he and his two companions ran away. Thanks to a witness, the three were arrested. The suspected driver was drunk and does not have a driver’s license.
According to police, the 18-year-old local resident was driving east on the B171 Tiroler Straße shortly after 12.30pm when he struck a taxi in front of him near Hall. The taxi driver was seriously injured in the collision. He had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Trio fled towards the train station
Meanwhile, the suspected driver of the accident and his companion ran away. “He and his two passengers immediately after the accident exited the vehicle and fled from the accident scene to the train station,” investigators said.
This was observed and reported by a witness. “As part of the initiated search measures, the passengers and later the driver involved in the accident were identified and arrested,” investigators continued.
