The joint excursion on Saturday afternoon ended in the hospital for five participants in an eight-member riding group. A ten-year-old girl was hit particularly hard when she was thrown from her horse. She had to be taken away by rescue helicopter.
On Saturday around 2:45 p.m., a riding group was out in the municipality of Ampflwang when some Icelandic horses suddenly spooked for unknown reasons. Five of the eight riders were thrown from their horses. Three (39, 48, 10 years old) of the five women suffered minor injuries and were rescued to hospital.
Horses captured again
Another ten-year-old girl from the Zell am See district was seriously injured after falling from a horse and had to be flown to hospital by rescue helicopter. The horses were not injured and were quickly recaptured after their escape.
