In the city of Memphis, Tennessee, two people were killed by gunfire at a street party on Sunday evening.
According to the latest information from the police on the X platform (formerly Twitter), there are also six injured people, one of whom is still in critical condition. The police initially assumed that fourteen people were injured. Two suspects are being sought.
A woman was arrested
The police were called at 12:48 a.m. (local time) about a shooting. Officers found a male suspect with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was taken to Regional Hospital One in critical condition and a woman was arrested. The investigation is ongoing, Memphis Police said on X (see post below).
According to the police, the party was not allowed
According to police, 200 to 300 people attended the unauthorized party in one block. “We believe there are at least two individuals who fired weapons in this incident,” interim Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis told CBS News.
