House evacuated – bomb threat led to large-scale operation in Innsbruck

A bomb threat against an object in the Saggen district via the police emergency call caused great excitement in the capital on Sunday afternoon. Ultimately, no explosive was found.

On Sunday around 3:15 p.m., a previously unknown person called the police emergency number. The man made a bomb threat that hit an object in Saggen.

Explosive detection dog found nothing
The call led to an extensive security police operation. Several patrols from the Innsbruck city police command were alerted. The affected building – probably a single-family home – was evacuated by the emergency services and an officer with an explosives sniffer dog combed the building. However, according to the police, no suspicious items were found.

The investigation to find the perpetrator and clarify the background is still ongoing.
