The head of the secret service has resigned following the attack by the terrorist group Hamas on October 7. The Israeli army announced this on Monday.
Aharon Haliwa, the head of Israel’s military intelligence, has now become the first high-ranking Israeli politician to face the fallout from the failures surrounding the Hamas attack and resign from office. Haliwa had already told the public in October that he felt guilty about the Hamas attack. As he explained, he should have prevented the massacre. “That morning I already understood that it was over. When the war is over, I have to go,” the intelligence chief reportedly admitted shortly after October 7, according to “i24news.”
