A twelve-year-old in Bad Vöslau (Lower Austria) had many guardian angels after a failed climbing campaign. He should have survived a fall from a tree into a concrete pool fairly unscathed.
The climbing fun on Friday around noon in Bad Vöslau in the Baden district almost ended in tragedy. A 12-year-old decided to climb a tall tree. He also climbed a branch that protruded above a blocked rainwater collection shaft. But suddenly there was a crack under the boy’s body and the branch broke. And the boy fell into the concrete pool, which was about six feet deep.
Even climbed out of the shaft
But the guardian angels must have done a great job. When rescuers arrived, the child was conscious and was even able to climb out of the shaft under its own power.
“I was very lucky”
Fortunately, the emergency doctor helicopter that had already landed was not needed, but the twelve-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up. “He was very lucky,” the emergency services are sure.
