Despite traffic jams and deaths: how Tyrolean gets its customers up Everest

Date:

The Mount Everest season has begun in the Himalayas and the demand for the adventure of a lifetime is greater than ever. At the front is a Tyrolean who will take dozens of customers to the highest mountain in the world this year. The 47-year-old knows what is important this year.

A few years ago, Tyrolean Lukas Furtenbach caused a stir around the world with his Everest Blitz expeditions, where his clients comfortably got used to the thin air in the hypoxia tent while reading, watching TV or sleeping and thus completed the arduous task. and often a week-long acclimatization process, except on site. For this, Furtenbach has received a lot of criticism from eight thousand legends such as Reinhold Messner.

Today, Furtenbach Aventures is one of the most successful freight forwarding companies in the world. “We are the only Western provider in the Everest business that is growing,” says the Tyrolean, who accompanied “Bergkrone” on a spring ski tour in the Axamer Lizum. “This year we have 40 customers from 15 countries who we will take to the highest mountain on our planet.”
