Lawyers for Leon’s father – ‘There is no understandable motive in the charges’

Date:

The Innsbruck Public Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges against the father of Leon (6), who drowned in the Kitzbüheler Ache in August 2022 – for murder and forgery of a criminal offense – the ‘Krone’ reports. Now the 39-year-old’s two lawyers are speaking out: “We want to carefully examine the charges and then decide whether we want to object to them.”

“The father is charged with murder and feigning a criminal offence. From the defense’s perspective, the indictment only contains the accusations of the Public Prosecution Service that are already known. The two lawyers announced today that this will be discussed in detail during the hearing,” Albert Heiss and Mathias Kapferer emphasize. It is in the interest of the defense that a large number of witnesses are questioned for clarification.

“We had reports made ourselves”
“We have had reports drawn up about various accusations by the investigating authorities and subsequently by the Public Prosecution Service. At the hearing we will make clear statements about various findings,” the two lawyers say.

“There is no evidence in the results”
What the defense says is missing from the entire indictment “is an understandable motive that the father should have had. Likewise, the defense cannot understand the accusation of a long-planned act. From the lawyers’ point of view, there is no evidence of this in the research results,” the duo emphasizes.

They want to carefully examine the charges that are now available and then decide whether to object within the fourteen day period.
