Brutal attack among young people in Vienna: In early April, a gang of girls robbed four holidaymakers from Upper Austria – two girls and two boys aged 15 to 16 – in a holiday apartment. The five suspects, aged between 16 and 19, allegedly threatened their victims with a suspected firearm, kicked them and took valuables such as mobile phones.
The young tourists wanted to rent a holiday apartment in the Landstrasse district at the beginning of their stay in Vienna on April 2. However, a person who was at least 20 years old had to sign the contract. The group then contacted an acquaintance who assured them he would send a suitable person.
Instead of a person who was at least twenty years old, the girl gang showed up a short time later, robbed the young people and then fled.
BeeSuspects investigated
The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department was able to quickly identify the suspects and their whereabouts thanks to “intensive and painstaking investigations.” This concerns a 16-year-old Serbian citizen, a 17-year-old German, an 18-year-old with unclear nationality, a 19-year-old Hungarian and a 20-year-old Romanian.
All five admitted that the suspected weapon was a toy gun.
